KOTA KINABALU: The fuel subsidy quota for vehicles owned by transport companies may be increased.
Second Finance Minister Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop said the directive for a review was given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in response to a request by transport companies.
"The prime minister has directed the relevant ministry to look into increasing the fleet card quota for transport companies," he said.
Currently, only 30 per cent of vehicles owned by transport companies are entitled to the fuel subsidy, prompting them to raise fares. Taken from NST
