KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 — Eligible vehicle owners can now apply for the fuel rebate disbursed by Pos Malaysia Berhad through the company's website, www.posonline.com.my.
The online option complements the present mode of making claims at all post offices nationwide, Pos Malaysia said in a statement yesterday.
It said that those who use the online option can ask for the payment to be made in form of money order or have it credited into their bank account.
It would take seven working days from the date of claim for Pos Malaysia to deliver the money order to the applicant's mailing address and three days if they choose direct credit.
In June, the government announced cash rebates to vehicle owners to ease the burden of people due to the increase in fuel prices.
Owners of cars below 2,000cc and 4WD vehicles and pick-up trucks up to 2,500cc are eligible for the RM625 cash rebate while owners of motorcycles below 250cc are eligible for RM150.
Vehicle owners have until March 31 next year to claim the rebate. — Bernama
