KUALA LUMPUR: Astro will stop imposing a RM10 fee for late payment. Instead, starting July 1, it will issue a reminder and disconnect the account if payment is still not received within 45 days.
As for service availability during rainfall, Astro said there was no permanent solution to that.
CEO Rohana Rozhan said there was no total solution to eradicating rain fade on a Ku Band transmission, which Astro uses for its Direct To Home satellite systems.
In a statement yesterday, she said, Astro would, however, gain additional satellite capacity towards the end of the year, and it would use this to mitigate downlink disruption due to rain fade.
